1st Public Technical Course
Following the successful General Assembly and technical training held in Lyon, the PATRON MSCA project continued its journey of scientific exchange with the 1st Public Technical Course, which took place from February 23–26 in Luleå, Sweden.
Hosted by Luleå University of Technology, the course focused on the Tribology of Machine Components, providing both theoretical and experimental insights into elastohydrodynamic lubrication (EHL) in machine components such as bearings and gears. Key topics included the role of surface topography and lubricant properties, as well as experimental methodologies to investigate the onset of wear, scuffing, micro-pitting, and other failures.
The training offered a valuable opportunity for participants to deepen their understanding of tribological phenomena while engaging in meaningful discussions with experts and peers, further strengthening collaboration within the network.
As always, the experience went beyond the technical dimension: moments of conviviality again played an important role in building strong connections among participants. With a bit of luck, we were also able to witness the breathtaking Northern Lights together, a truly special moment that made this experience even more memorable.
We would like to sincerely thank Luleå University of Technology for the excellent organization, the high-quality training, and the warm hospitality.
