ISMA-USD 2026

Last week, from September 7 to 9, five PhD candidates from the PATRON Project (Imen Tounsi, Evenela Maria Dima, Thato Sibanda, Maruti Patil and Konstantinos Velis) participated in the ISMA-USD 2026 Conference, organized by KU Leuven Mecha(tro)nic System Dynamics (LMSD) in Leuven.

The conference provided a valuable opportunity for our researchers to present and share their work, follow the latest developments in their research fields, exchange ideas with the scientific community, and connect with fellow researchers and experts.

In particular, Imen Tounsi and Thato Sibanda had the opportunity to present their research papers:
📄 Imen presented “Second-order cyclostationary modeling and reduction of reconstruction noise in irregular sampling”.
📄 Thato presented “Spall size estimation via autocorrelation function”.

Beyond the scientific sessions, all five PhD candidates participated in the Networking and Co-Creation Workshop during ISMA-USD 2026, organized within the framework of the Horizon Europe EU.FFICIENT project. The workshop brought together fellows from different MSCA projects and research networks, creating a dedicated space to connect beyond individual consortia, exchange experiences, expand professional networks.

A great week of research, exchange, and new connections in Leuven!
